Margherita Cardelli had long borrowed from the wardrobes of her father and grandfather, drawn to the timeless elegance of tailored menswear. Gerardo Cavaliere, raised in Salerno, grew up immersed in fine tailoring—it was part of his heritage, reflected in the bespoke garments he wore and later crafted at his atelier, Sartoria Giuliva.

When the two met in Rome—she managing a luxury communications firm, he running his sartorial studio—their personal and professional paths aligned. They saw a gap in the market: refined, timeless womenswear rooted in traditional Italian tailoring.

Together, they launched the first prêt-à-porter collection under Giuliva Heritage in Paris in 2017, starting with outerwear inspired by classic menswear cuts. A men’s ready-to-wear line followed three years later. Their mission: to create enduring, iconic pieces using the finest fabrics and craftsmanship—clothes made to last a lifetime.
